Wayman H. McIntosh

Wayman H. McIntosh (1900-1982) was a trainer for football at Lake Forest College during the early 20th century. First pictured in the 1936 yearbook, “Mack” earned a mention to commemorate his many years of service to the College.

Wayman was the son of Henry McIntosh, one of LF’s pioneer Black residents and a Civil War veteran. He graduated from Deerfield-Shields High School in 1919 with a full slate of extracurricular activities, and attended Northwestern and then LFC in the 1920s, playing football.

Lake Forester
Wayman McIntosh had a wide-ranging career. Besides being part of the football team staff, he also worked in the family waste removal firm, The Sanitary Company, and had his own massage therapy business. Later he went on to serve as pastor at Antioch Baptist Church.
