Noble Brandon Judah

Colonel Noble B. Judah, a Chicago lawyer, served as the assistant Chief of Staff of the Rainbow Division throughout the United States’ participation in France. The Rainbow Division was the third complete American Division to land in France and served more days in action and forced further advance into enemy territory than any other American Division. He served in this capacity until a week after the Armistice, when was was transferred to the General Staff of First Army Corps.

He received the Croix de Guerre with palm from General Petain for the Champagne fight on July 15, and was promoted to be a Lieutenant Colonel, General Staff, after the Ourcq River battle in August of 1918.
