A product of Lake Forest High School’s swimming program (LFHS 2003), where he helped it win its first-ever men’s state championship, Matt Grevers went on to achieve elite status nationally and internationally. For Northwestern University, as a sophomore in 2004 he became the Wildcats’ first NCAA champion since 1958. Before graduating in 2007, he left with 27 All America honors in individual and team events and became only the third swimmer in NCAA history to go under 1:40,00 in the 200-yard backstroke. In international competition, he represented the U.S. in two Olympic Games (2008, 2012) and won six medals. Four were gold, including an individual effort in the 100-meter backstroke in Beijing.
