Born in Waukegan in 1929, Murray Conzelman became one of Lake County's most distinguished lawyers. He graduated from Lake Forest College in 1950, captaining the baseball team, and then Northwestern Law School. At age 23 he was elected Alderman of the 7th Ward for the City of Waukegan, the youngest ever elected to that position.
He came to Lake Forest in 1979, highly respected in the field of municipal law, and represented Lake Forest as corporation counsel during years of significant growth and development.
In addition to his work with the City of Lake Forest, he represented several other municipalities as well as ran a private law practice where he became an expert on First Amendment issues.
A big St. Louis Cardinals fan, he lived a dream in the 1990s by attending their fantasy baseball camp.
